Statement of Faith

We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe known and unknown and that the Holy Spirit is the comforter & instructor in righteousness who generates and sanctifies the Church of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Bible, as the chief authority in all doctrinal and religious matters, and the Holy Spirit as the guide in spiritual matters.

We believe that Jesus was incarnated as a son of GOD, born of Mary, a virgin, fully partook of all human experience being tempted like we are in all points yet without sin.

We believe in baptism in a body of living water, where the candidate shall be baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in Church membership and of the observance of the Lord’s supper, by all.

We believe in praying for and receiving the spiritual baptism of the Holy Spirit, which outwardly reveals itself by the gifts of speaking in tongues, healing, revelation and others as mentioned in the bible.

We believe in the practices and customs of African tradition such as, ringing of the bells, candles as symbols, wearing of head wraps & robes or gowns, and the use of consecrated oil, blessed water (Exodus 30 and Rev. 22).

We believe that all believers must keep the body-temple in sound physical health and maintain a clear mind and conscience.

We believe that spiritual retreats are necessary for man to examine his conscience, and search his soul. The retreat shall consist of prayers, partial or complete fasting, meditation, singing of praise, and thanksgiving.

We believe that there will be a resurrection, the final judgement and after this a “new heaven and earth wherein shall dwell righteousness”. Titus 2:13-14, Thess 4:16-18, Rev 22:12

We Believe that the Spiritual Baptist Faith must be active in community work toward the betterment of the society by the promotion of self-reliance through united effort.

We believe that the government of the country is to be for the common good and the maintenance of order in human society; that laws made by governments should be inspired by the Holy Spirit, through the supreme Will of God.
